The fundraiser ends, and the next stage begins. The first Kuro5hin fundraising drive is officially over, and by any measure, it's been a fantastic success. Altogether you contributed over $37,000 in memberships, donations, and text ads, along with perhaps another $2500 in donation pledges, and an unknown amount in pay-by-mail memberships. I should be able to report a final “grand total” in a few weeks. This incredible response has caught the attention and imagination of innumerable webloggers and the online media, including The Register, Wired News, and C|Net (where a column should be appearing later today). Yahoo's Yang sells 250,000 shares. Yahoo co-founder Jerry Yang is on a selling streak. In May he sold 550,000 shares of the Internet media company, worth $8.1 million. [CNET News.com]

Well, I'm off to pick up tuxedo #2. This is our third wedding in as many months. After this one, only one more to go. It sure has been a busy summer. I can hardly wait until August.
